Hungarian Meat Banned From Many Countries

This week it was published that a boar infected with swine fever had been found in Hungary. Several countries have already banned Hungarian meat from their market because of the danger.Serbia, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea have already banned Hungarian pork and pig products from their market, the Serbs banned live pigs from their market, too.

Although, the infection was found in one boar in Heves county, the ban is not regional, that is, it is valid for the whole territory of Hungary and all exporters.

According to the article of Világgazdaság, for the time being, there is a chance to agree on regionalization only with Singapore. If no new cases of swine fever are registered in Hungary, the Singapore market will be reopened for Hungarian meat factories outside the registered region.
