This week, EU leaders are discussing how to make Europe climate-neutral, in line with the Paris Agreement.

The last 30 years have been the hottest on record in Europe. Heatwaves, flooding and forest fires more and more often impact the lives of Europeans.
The EU has long recognised the importance of tackling global warming and has adopted targets to reduce its carbon footprint.
Greenhouse gas emissions in Europe have been cut down by 22% compared to the 1990 levels, but more needs to be done.
