Three Human Traffickers Caught in Szeged

The police arrested three people smugglers in Szeged, who transported twenty border violators in their vehicles, the spokesperson of the Csongrád-Csanád County Police Headquarters informed MTI on Thursday.

 

Szilvia Szabó said that the patrols stopped a Hungarian car driven by a Romanian citizen at eight o’clock on Wednesday evening. Five illegal migrants were found in the vehicle and they declared themselves Syrian citizens. A few minutes later, a Bulgarian van was also inspected.The vehicle was driven by a man of Ukrainian nationality, with a Moldavian man traveling next to him. Police found fifteen illegal migrants hiding in the van, who declared themselves to be Afghan citizens, the captain said.

Criminal proceedings were instituted against the two drivers and their Moldovan helper for human trafficking, and illegal migrants were escorted back to the temporary security border.
