The popular series of events, called Autumn Cultural Festival, organized every autumn is about to start at the University of Szeged, between 1st October and 10th November, at 75 different venues, with over 300 programs.

Directorate for International and Public Affairs’ Culture Office of the SZTE organizes the art festival of the university this year as well. The aim of the month-long series of events is to provide popular artisans and students with acting skills with the opportunity to introduce their work for the university and its audience.

The programme of the festival is prepared in such a way that the largest possible cultural scale is offered for all age groups and interests. Diversity is a core value of this year’s festival too: concerts of popular and classical music, educational lectures, performances and open days, movie nights and book promotion events, conversations on literature and public issues. In addition to diversity, other aspects, such as professionalism, transmission of values and community building based on cultural experiences are also important.

The festival’s official opening is a special light painting event and photo exhibition of Anna Fenyvesi, head of the Institute of English and American Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Atrium of the Rector’s Office on the 1stOctober, Tuesday at 18:30. The incredibly popular ’Poet at noon’ programme series are also to be continued, where participants cite their favourite poets in front of the Rector’s Office on each working day. Theatre-fans will have the opportunity to meet Géza Bereményi, Dorottya Udvaros and Krisztián Grecsó. Among others, concerts of Ági Herczku and the Band, Flora Tandi and Flóra Olasz, Zűrös Band, Cimbaliban and Dóra Danics, Fool Moon and Edina Mókus Szirtes will be offered, along with exhibitions, for example, of painter Lajos Bakacsi and photographer János Gyeviki.
