No Online Booking Fees Within the EU

Economy

European Commission is banning surcharges for consumer debit and credit card payments made online, and in shops, anywhere in the European Union. When people make a cross-border payment in euros and Swedish Krona within the EU, their banks cannot charge them more than it would for an equivalent national transaction. Even banks based in EU countries outside the euro area must apply this rule.

The rule is applied for transfers between bank accounts in different EU countries, withdrawals from cash machines/ATMs in EU countries, payments by debit or credit card across the EU, direct debit transactions.
